Jordan Condemns the Attack on a Qatari Gas Tanker in the Arabian Gulf

Al-Taj News – Jordan condemned on Sunday the attack on the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker “Al Mayeda,” owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited “Nakilat,” while sailing in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, considering it a violation of international law and a threat to the freedom of maritime navigation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized in a statement the necessity of respecting international law and ensuring the freedom of maritime navigation as well as the safety of ships and their crews, warning of the serious repercussions on regional security and stability, and on the international economy and the environment, resulting from targeting energy tankers.
